Hi! I’m Kat

My professional photography expertise spans over 17 years; including portraits, studios, editorial, weddings, commercial photography, corporate business photography, musicians, lifestyle and event coverage. I was first officially recognised and awarded as 2010’s New Zealand Geographic Young photographer of the year and from here, my photography career followed many paths.

For most of my time with a camera in hand, I focused on Auckland wedding and portrait photography. This allowed me to travel all round the world and a good chunk of this time was spent capturing mountain top weddings and elopements in Queenstown.

These days, I am based out in West Auckland amongst the rugged coastal landscape of Bethells Beach which serves as fantastic inspiration and a handy location for beach portrait sessions.

I like to keep my creative plate varied, focusing on elevating brands through commercial portraiture photography as well as capturing a small number of Auckland weddings, elopements and portrait photography sessions.

 

My Style

The beauty of having created imagery in many different environments and industries is a deep understanding of my style, I describe it balance between classic, documentary and emotive storytelling.

I love to work with natural light to create timeless, dreamy photography. This translates across both my commercial and branding images, as well as my wedding and portrait photography.  My eye is always looking for authentic emotion and connection captured in a candid and relaxed “behind-the-scenes” way.
